About MCHP Premium

Enrollment is open again for this program!  On July 1, 2001, Maryland implemented an expansion to the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP). The expansion, called MCHP Premium, offered health coverage to children in families who have higher incomes than those eligible for MCHP.  This program was closed last fiscal year and reopened due to legislative changes.

Enrollment is open again for this program!

Enrollment for children in MCHP Premium whose families have higher income levels was reopened as of July 1, 2004.  Check the income limits below to see if your child will qualify.  The child must also be uninsured.

This program uses the same application as MCHP. Families who enroll their children in MCHP Premium pay a monthly premium that includes all enrolled children.  The premium varies by your family's income.
