Maryland Health Care Commission

The mission of the Maryland Health Care Commission is to plan for health system needs, promote informed decision-making, increase accountability, and improve access in health care.  Included on the site are HMO and Nursing home report cards.

Maryland Insurance Administration

The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is an independent State agency that regulates Maryland's insurance industry and protects consumers by ensuring that insurance companies and health plans act in accordance with insurance laws. The Insurance Administration also is responsible for investigating and resolving consumer complaints and questions concerning insurance companies operating in Maryland.

Center for Poverty Solutions

The Center for Poverty Solutions is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to fostering solutions to the causes of poverty. Through a variety of activities including direct service, education, advocacy, and self-reliance, the Center for Poverty Solutions works with the community to transform attitudes, whittle fear, invent opportunities, empower dignity, and create hope for Maryland's poor.

Maryland Committee for Children

Maryland Committee for Children works with parents, child care providers, advocates, employers, and policymakers to expand and
enhance the early childhood education and child care available to Maryland's children.  On-line searchable database for parents looking for day care, after-school care, and after school activities.


The Coordinating Center

Nationally accredited care management agency providing family and person centered, comprehensive coordination of services through the Maryland Model Waiver for children and adolescents with complex medical needs and disabilities and Rare and Expensive Case Management (REM) for people with special health care needs as well as training around issues associated with people with complex medical needs in the community.


Public Justice Center

The Public Justice Center is a non-profit legal services organization dedicated to expanding the rights of the under-represented. Established in 1985, the Public Justice Center has sought to focus its attention on significant civil rights and anti-poverty issues.

The mission of the Annie E. Covering Kids

Health professionals and consumers alike can depend on it for information that is authoritative and up to date. National Health Law Program

The National Health Law Program is a national public interest law firm that seeks to improve health care for America's working and unemployed poor, minorities, the elderly and people with disabilities.
